PRB: MTS Client Installation EXE Is Not Created with Specific MTS Configuration (197816)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Transaction Server 2.0
- Microsoft COM
This article was previously published under Q197816 SYMPTOMS
The MTS client installation .exe is not created during a package export if
the System package is configured in the following way:
- The MTS System package's Administrator role does not contain the
System package's identity account.
-and-
- Authorization Checking is turned on for the System package.
CAUSE
If Authorization Checking is turned on for the System package a check is
made on the system package's Administrator role for the identity of the
system package.
RESOLUTION
To have a client installation .exe generated during a package export, do
the following:
- Add the Windows NT account used for the System package's identity to the
System package's Administrator role. You can also add a Windows NT group
containing the System package's identity account to the Administrator
role.
- Turn off Authorization checking for the System.
Sometimes a missing MtxClex.dll in the SYSTEM package could also prevent you from exporting the client installation .exe. If missing, be sure you register it with the SYSTEM package.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
