FIX: Memory Leak When Using XA TM and SQL Server/DTC (197811)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Transaction Server 2.0
- Microsoft COM
This article was previously published under Q197811 SYMPTOMS
This hotfix corrects several problems that may occur when you use Microsoft
SQL Server with an XA-compliant transaction manager such as BEA's Tuxedo.
These problems only occur when the transaction manager performs distributed
transactions with Microsoft SQL Server using the XA protocol.
Under some circumstances Microsoft DTC returns the error XAERR_NOTA (no
transaction). The Microsoft DTC transaction manager process may also leak
memory when Tuxedo performs XA transactions with Microsoft SQL Server.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Transaction
Server version 2.0.
A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-
tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific
problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem,
Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains
this fix. Contact Microsoft Product Support for more information.
This problem has been fixed in COM+.
