SYMPTOMS
If you use the Publish Web command to add a Web to an existing
Web, any files in the destination Web with the same name as files in the
Web being copied will be replaced.
RESOLUTION
To prevent files from being overwritten, change any duplicate file names in
the Web being copied before you use the Publish FrontPage Web command.
To change the file name of a page in FrontPage, follow these steps:
- In the Folders View or the All Files Report View, find the page you want
to change.
- Right-click the page you want to change, and click Rename on the
shortcut menu.
- Type the new name and press Enter to rename the page.
You may receive the warning message "There are <number of pages> pages that
have links to this page. Do you want to update these pages so that the
links will not be broken?" If you want to automatically change the links,
click Yes.
