This article was previously published under Q197688 SUMMARY
Setup fails if the system cannot locate a valid domain account. You may
receive one of the following error messages when trying to run the
installation:
Installer not responding
Internal Error 2608, 1332
The LockPermission table can create secured objects for files, directories,
or registry keys. If the domain controller is not available to return a
unique identifier for each user listed, the setup fails. If you know the
user name and domain are correct, common causes of failure are:
- The domain controller is down.
- Failures in the network.
- The user has changed his or her password when logging back into the
current computer.
In the case of network or computer failures, a significant delay may be
incurred while the system waits for a response.
MORE INFORMATION
The LookupAccountName function attempts to find a security identifier for
the specified name by first checking a list of well-known Security Identifiers (SIDs). If the name does not correspond to a well-known SID, the function checks built-in and administratively defined local accounts. Next, the function checks the primary domain. If the name is not found there, trusted domains are checked.
