SYMPTOMS
When you start your Windows 98-based computer, you may receive the
following error message or one similar to it:
Cpqtapi caused a general protection fault in module wowglue.dll at
0001:0000
Also, you may be unable to send or receive faxes, and you may be unable to
change your dialing settings.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your computer is configured to start the Compaq
Phone Center program when you start your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact Compaq to inquire about the availability of
a fix for this issue.
To work around this issue, configure the Compaq Phone Center program so
that it does not start automatically when you start your computer. For
information about how to do so, view the documentation included with the
Compaq Phone Center program, or contact Compaq.
