PRJ98: Leading Split/Zero Work Removed When Assigning Resource (197353)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q197353 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you assign a resource to a task, you may see
any of the following behaviors:
- The Start or Finish of the task may be changed.
- In the Task Usage view, a zero value of timephased work for
the task may be removed.
- In the Gantt Chart view, a leading task split may be
removed.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you do the following:
- Create a custom work contour for a task and the first day of the work
contour has a zero value of work.
- You then assign a resource to that task.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, re-create the contour in the Task Usage view.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
