OL2000: (CW) Error in Pimab32.dll When Using Word as E-Mail Editor (197325)

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When using Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor in Microsoft Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
WinWord caused an invalid page fault in PIMAB32.dll

CAUSE

You are using the Compaq Address Book service.

RESOLUTION

Remove the Compaq Address Book service from the profile. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.
  2. On the Services tab, click Compaq Address Book, and click Remove.
  3. Click OK.
