This article was previously published under Q197313 SYMPTOMS
When you try to configure an MS-DOS-based program to start minimized or
maximized by modifying the Program tab in the Properties Configuration
dialog box, the program still starts in the default MS-DOS window.
CAUSE
This feature does not work in Windows NT version 4.0 or Windows 2000.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, you can start the program minimized from a
command prompt using the command "start /min <program>" where <program>
is the executable file name of the program you want to run.
For example, to start Edit.com minimized, type:
start /min %systemroot%\system32\edit.com
