XFOR: Mode Command Does Not Function Properly with Chat Server (197292)

When you connect to a Microsoft Chat Server computer using an account that
has administrative permissions, and then use the MODE command to list all
the banned users, the command may not function properly. In addition, if
you attempt to use the MODE command to ban a user or stop banning a user,
an Extensions to the Internet Relay Chat Protocol (IRCX) 914 or 915 error
may be displayed.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the server incorrectly responds to the MODE
command in IRCX format instead of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) format.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For more information, please see the following article in the
