SYMPTOMS

When you click an attachment in the body of a contact to open it, you may get the following error:

   Some objects contain viruses that can be harmful to your computer. It is
   important to be certain that this object is from a trustworthy source.
				
   Do you  trust this embedded object?

Outlook sets Attachment security to High. You can change the setting to None, but doing this can expose your computer to viruses that can potentially damage it. It is recommended that you leave the setting on High.

Change Attachment Security Setting



To change the attachment security setting, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Security tab.
  2. Click Attachment Security.
  3. Under Security method, click to select your desired setting. If you click None, you will not be protected from any security problems. Use this setting only if you are sure all messages you receive are safe.
  4. To close the dialog boxes, Click OK twice.
