OL2000: Additional +1 Added to Phone Number of Contact (197065)

When you type a telephone number in a phone number field of a Contact
in Microsoft Outlook, you may see "+1" (without the quotation marks)
automatically added before the area code of the phone number.
CAUSE
You have selected the dialing option to "Automatically add country code to
local phone numbers."
