SYMPTOMS

The Deleted Items command does not appear on the Go To menu even though Deleted Items is a standard Microsoft Outlook folder.

CAUSE

Deleted Items is not on the Go To menu by default.

NOTE: The Go To menu is a submenu of the View menu.

RESOLUTION

You can add Deleted Items by customizing the Go To menu. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars and then click Customize.
  2. On the Commands tab, click to select View in the left pane under Categories.
  3. In the right pane under Commands, scroll down until you see "Deleted Items."
  4. Click the Deleted Items command and drag it to the View menu, hover, and after the menu expands, hover over the Go To menu, and then drop the Deleted Items command on the Go To menu. If it is placed incorrectly, you can drag the item within the Go To menu while the Customize dialog box is still open.
  5. In the Customize dialog box, click Close.
