SYMPTOMS

When you use the spell checker tool in Pocket Word, some text may appear to be skipped.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a portion of contiguous text contains one or no alphabetic characters and more than one non-alphabetic character.

The spell checker tool in Pocket Word, like the spell checker tool in Microsoft Word 97, ignores portions of text that contain non-alphabetic characters with no more than one alphabetic character. For example, the spell checker tool does not mark the following text as being misspelled:
