OL2000: Cannot Add Characters to E-mail Name After It's Resolved (196752)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q196752

SYMPTOMS

When you try to correct an e-mail name in the To field by adding a missing character to the end of the name, the trailing character is sometimes treated as a separate name. This action results in two incorrect e-mail names, neither of which Microsoft Outlook can resolve properly.

RESOLUTION

To append a character to the end of an incorrect e-mail name, select the entire name, and then type the correct name over the erroneous name. Do not try to add characters to the end of the name after the name resolution has failed.
