When you create seven-digit phone number entries in a Microsoft Outlook
Contact forms, you notice that the area code is not automatically added
on some entries.
CAUSE
You have inadvertently entered a seven-digit phone number that begins with
the number 1.
RESOLUTION
Check the seven-digit phone number and re-enter it without the 1.
MORE INFORMATION
By agreement among telephony providers, the number 1 is reserved to signify
long distance or other special access. This convention is observed
internationally.
