OL2000: (CW) Windows Messaging and Microsoft Fax with Windows 98 (196624)

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the
Corporate Workgroup/Other option (CW). This option allows you to use
Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine
your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In
About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the
Corporate Workgroup installation.
SYMPTOMS
If you install Microsoft Outlook on Microsoft Windows 98, you may
not have Microsoft Mail or Microsoft Fax as available services in Outlook.
In addition, other MAPI services such as Internet Mail and the Microsoft
Network may not work.
CAUSE
Windows Messaging (previously known as Exchange Client) and Microsoft Fax
(previously known as At Work Fax) are no longer available as installation
options with Windows 98
NOTE: Microsoft Fax and Windows Messaging are not supported if you did not
have each installed and working properly prior to installing Windows 98.
Additionally, some OEM versions of Windows 98 do not include either of
these items.
RESOLUTION
Run the Windows Messaging (Wms.exe) installer and the Microsoft Fax
(Awfax.exe) installer from the <cd drive>:\tools\oldwin95\message\us folder
on your Windows 98 compact disc.
