Finish or Save Button in a Wizard is Unavailable (Grayed Out) (196287)

SYMPTOMS

If you install an early pre-release BETA build of Internet Explorer version 5, the Finish or Save button may be unavailable in task wizards in some applications.
  PhotoDraw 2000      The Finish/Save button in the Save for Use In
                      wizard is unavailable.

  Image Composer 1.5  The Finish buttons in the Button wizard and the
                      Save for the Web wizard are unavailable.
				

CAUSE

Internet Explorer version 5 BETA installs a different version of the file Comcatl32.dll that causes the problem.

NOTE: Only the BETA version of Internet Explorer causes this problem. Internet Explorer 5 is a beta product and may cause problems to your computer.

RESOLUTION

The version that causes the problem is IE 5 version 5.00.0910.1390CO. Upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer version 5 or later.

Use the steps listed in the WORKAROUND section of this article.

WORKAROUND

Uninstall Internet Explorer version 5 and choose the option to "Restore the previous installation..." of Internet Explorer 4.x.
  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. From the list of programs, select Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and click Add/Remove.
  4. In the setup dialog select the option to "Restore the previous installation..." and follow the rest of the instructions on the screen.

STATUS

This problem is resolved in later builds of Internet Explorer 5.0 BETA.
