PRJ98: All Tasks Updated Using Tools If No Tasks Are Selected (196147)

In Microsoft Project 98, all of the tasks in the project may be updated
when you use any of the following tools:
- "Update work as complete through" for Selected Tasks (on the Tools
menu, point to Tracking, and click Update Project).
- "Reschedule uncompleted work to start" for Selected Tasks (on the
Tools menu, point to Tracking, and click Update Project).
- Update As Scheduled (button on the Tracking toolbar).
- Reschedule Work (button on the Tracking toolbar).
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use any of the tools listed in the "Symptoms"
section to update selected tasks, and one or more blank rows are selected
below the last task in the project.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, select the appropriate row(s) for the task(s)
you want to update before you use the tools listed in the "Symptoms"
section.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
