OL98: ErrMsg: "Profile name is not valid" Starting Windows (195973)

SYMPTOMS

When starting Microsoft Outlook 98, you may receive the following error message:
This profile name is not valid. Select a different profile name.

CAUSE

Symantec WinFax Pro is in the Windows startup menu.

MORE INFORMATION

In Winfax Pro, you can remove the conflicting programs from the startup group, or you can disable it from using the exchange profile.

Remove WinFax Pro from the Startup Items folder

  1. Right-click Start, and then click Open.
  2. Double-click Programs.
  3. Double-click Startup.
  4. Right-click the WinFax Pro shortcut, and then click Delete.
  5. Close all open windows, and then restart the computer.
