OL2000: "Empty Deleted Items Folder" Works Only on Primary Store (195966)

SYMPTOMS

When you click "Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder" on the Tools menu, not all the Deleted Items folders are emptied.

CAUSE

This menu command empties only the Deleted Items folder on the primary store (where your mail is delivered). Deleted Items folders on other personal stores are not affected.

RESOLUTION

To empty other Deleted Item folders, using the right mouse button, click the folder name, and then click "Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder" on the shortcut menu.

Follow these steps to determine which is the Deleted Items folder on your primary store (either a Personal Folders file or a Mailbox where your mail is delivered):

  1. On the View menu, click to turn on the Folder List.
  2. Press CTL+SHIFT+I. This will select the Inbox of your primary store in the Folder List.
Your primary Deleted Items folder is in the same store.
