OL2000: Outlook Appears Partially Off-Screen When Maximized (195865)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Outlook may exhibit any of the following viewing issues when the initially launched:
  • The Outlook application window appears to have slid part way off of the viewing area of your screen.
  • Outlook launches to a minimized state on the taskbar.
  • You cannot access Outlook minimize or maximize controls.

To correct the behavior described in the "Symptoms" section of this article, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type Regedit to start the Registry Editor.
  3. On the registry tree in the left panel, navigate to the following Registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Office Explorer\

  4. In the right panel, right-click Frame, and then click Delete.
  5. Quit the Registry Editor.
  6. Start Outlook, and click the Maximize button in the upper-right corner of the title bar. You can also maximize the window by right-clicking the title bar and then clicking Maximize.
The Frame key (in the registry) is now re-created and Outlook will open fully maximized.
