OL98: Cannot Locate Recurrence Information for this Appointment (195748)

When starting Microsoft Outlook 98, you may receive the following error
message:
The operation failed.
After you click OK, you may also receive the following:
There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some
reminders may not appear. Cannot locate recurrence information for
this appointment.
The above errors may also occur while importing items from a Calendar
folder located in a Personal Store (.pst) file.
CAUSE
A recurring item in the Calendar folder may be damaged.
WORKAROUND
To reset the recurrence pattern information and correct this behavior,
follow these steps:
- Click to select the Calendar folder.
- On the View menu, point to Current View, and click Recurring
Appointments.
- Open the damaged item. If you don't know which item it is, perform the
remaining steps on each item.
- On the Actions menu, click Recurrence.
- In Appointment Recurrence, click OK. You may receive the
following message:
Any exceptions associated with this recurring appointment will be
lost. If any of the exceptions are meetings, the attendees
will not be notified. Is this OK?
NOTE: This means any changes you made to individual occurrences of
the item will be lost and the new recurrence pattern will be set.
Click OK if you receive this message.
- Save and close the item.
Outlook should start without receiving these errors.
