OL2000: Icons for Sent Faxes Appear as Unread (195675)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q195675

SYMPTOMS

When you send a fax or use a customized mail form in Microsoft Outlook 2000, the icon properties of the messages in the Sent Items folder appear as unread with a closed envelope. Icons associated with messages sent with the default mail form appear as read with an open envelope.

CAUSE

Icon property changes for Sent Items are determined by the message class; these properties do not change when the default form has been customized. The icon displays them as unread.

MORE INFORMATION

In Outlook, the message class handles the change in the icon appearance from unread to read. For standard mail messages the message class is IPM.Note. If this form is customized and published as the default mail form, the new form does not control the icon properties.
