Message Synchronization Seems to Be Slow (195645)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE Services 2.0
  • Microsoft Windows CE Services 2.1
  • Microsoft Windows CE Services 2.2

This article was previously published under Q195645

SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize messages between your Windows CE-based device and desktop computer, the time required for a particular synchronization may increase without any apparent increase in the number of messages being synchronized.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you have messages that are addressed to many people. Windows CE Services resolves each name on the To, Cc, and Bcc line through Microsoft Outlook. If there are many names on these lines, synchronization seems to be slow because each name is being resolved.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows CE Services 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2.
