OL2000: "Outlook Today" Does Not Show Appointments or Tasks (195504)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q195504 SYMPTOMS
When you select the Outlook Today view in Microsoft Outlook 2000, no
appointments or tasks appear, although you have added events to your
Calendar and Task list for today.
CAUSE
During setup, you added the items to Microsoft Schedule+ and chose
Schedule+ as your primary calendar.
RESOLUTION
The Outlook Today view will not display items entered in Schedule+. You
must use the Outlook calendar and task list to see these items in the
Outlook Today view.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
During Outlook Setup, you have the option to choose Schedule+ as your
primary calendar. This is desirable if you are working in a mixed workgroup
where some people use Outlook and others use Schedule+ with an e-mail
client other than Outlook. This option allows everyone in the workgroup to
share calendar information and schedule appointments with each other. This
option places an icon on your Outlook toolbar for conveniently starting
Schedule+.
NOTE: To avoid duplication and confusion when using the Schedule+ option,
it is very important that you enter appointment items into the Schedule+
calendar and not the Outlook calendar. It is probably a good idea to remove
the Calendar icon from the Outlook Bar so that you will not accidentally
use it.
Since Schedule+ also has Task and Contact functions, you should take the
same precautions in using one program or the other for these
features. If you want to share this information with other Schedule+ users
in the workgroup, you must use the Schedule+ functions.
