MORE INFORMATION

There may be times when you want to print a section of an e-mail message. Outlook does not provide the facility to do this directly. You can, however, set Microsoft Word as your default e-mail editor.

Set Word as Your Default E-mail Editor

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Under Message format on the Mail Format tab, click to select "Use Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages."

Note: If the "Send in this message format:" is set to plain text with Word is set as the e-mail editor, you will not see the Word Print dialog box and you will not have the option to print the Selection. The "Send in this message format:" must be set to Microsoft Outlook Rich Text for these steps to work.
  3. Click OK.
NOTE: This only applies to Microsoft Word 2000.

Print a Selection

  1. Open an e-mail message and click to select the section of text. NOTE: The first time you open an e-mail message, a prompt will appear stating "Starting Word as your e-mail editor.
  2. On the File menu, click Print.
  3. In the Page Range box, click Selection.
  4. Click OK to print.
