Err Msg: Astro Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Astro.exe (195388)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add an activity using the Take Control Editor, version 1.0, you may receive the following error message:
Astro caused an invalid page fault in module Astro.exe.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:

  • You have not added a device from the TV category to the device list.
  • You attempt to add an activity that requires a TV device.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add a device from the TV category before you add an activity. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Start the Take Control Editor.
  2. Click Devices.
  3. Click Add New Device.
  4. In the Select The Device Category list, click TV, and then click Continue.
  5. Click the brand of TV you want, and then click Continue.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to synchronize your computer with the Take Control System Controller (TC1000).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Take Control Editor, version 1.0.
