PRJ98: No Tasks Shown and Crash Opening Team Assignment Message (195343)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a TeamAssign message in your e-mail program, the following symptoms may occur:

  • No tasks are displayed in the TeamAssign message and only the Reply button is available.

  • When you reply to the TeamAssign message and click Send, you may receive one of the following error messages.

    Windows 95/98

    This Program has performed and illegal operation and will shut down.

    If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

    OPENMAIL caused an invalid page fault in module OPENMAIL.EXE at <address>.

    Windows NT

    An application error has occurred and application log is being generated.

    Openmail.exe
    Exception access violation (0xc0000005) Address <address>

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you open a TeamAssign with more than 49 tasks assigned to one resource.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
