SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, in the File Open dialog box, the preview of a project may display as an icon.

NOTE: Click the Preview toolbar button in the File Open dialog box to display the preview pane.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs in the File Open dialog box when you select a project that contains an inserted project, a resource pool, or a project that is password protected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
