PPT98: Animations Don't Dim With Automatic Timings (195102)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q195102 SYMPTOMS
Animated items in your PowerPoint presentation do not dim after they
animate when the timing for that item is set to automatic. This problem can
affect any of the following items in your presentation:
- Bulleted Lists
- Autoshapes
- Textboxes
- Inserted objects, like Microsoft Graph
CAUSE
This process is by design. When you set animations to automatic, the dim
affect needs a mouse click to be initiatated. If the mouse-click is not
initiated, the dim affect will not occur.
WORKAROUND
If you change the animation timings for your animted items to a mouse
click and change the slide transition for that slide to automatic the
bullets will dim correctly but all other animation timings will be altered
slightly.
NOTE: When setting a slide transition to automatic, all animation timings
within that slide are given equal time intervals.
