MSPS: Cannot Play List of Speed Dial Entries from Handset (195068)

When you use the Microsoft Cordless Phone System version 1.0, you may
experience the following symptoms:
- You may be unable to play the list of available speed dial entries when
you use a voice command from the handset.
- You may not hear the Ready tone when you press the VCMD button on the
handset.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you rename any of the speed dial categories.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the category to its default name, and then
quit and restart Microsoft Call Manager. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Microsoft Call Manager.
- On the Phone tab, click Speed Dial, and then click Rename Categories.
- Rename the category to its default name, and then click OK.
- Click Options, and then click Exit Microsoft Call Manager.
- When you are prompted if you are sure you want to quit Microsoft Call
Manager, click Yes.
- Restart Call Manager.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Cordless
Phone System version 1.0.
