FreeStyle Pro: Cannot Assign Action in Game to Button (194142)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SideWinder FreeStyle Pro
This article was previously published under Q194142 SYMPTOMS
If you assign an action in a game to a button on the Microsoft
SideWinder FreeStyle Pro, the action may be assigned to the X or Y axis of
the game controller.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the SideWinder FreeStyle Pro uses a motion
sensor to assign actions to X and Y axis movement.
If you move the controller while you are assigning an action to
a button, the action is assigned to the X or Y axis instead of the button.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, disable the motion sensor on the FreeStyle Pro
before you assign an action to a button. To do this, press the
Sensor button on the FreeStyle Pro.
NOTE: When you are finished assigning actions to buttons on the FreeStyle
Pro, press the Sensor button again to enable the motion sensor.
MORE INFORMATION
The light on the FreeStyle Pro is red when the motion sensor is disabled
and green when the motion sensor is enabled.
