HP LaserJet 5Si and 5Si/5Si MS PS Prints Euro Symbol Incorrectly (193935)

When you print a document that contains the euro symbol to a Hewlett-
Packard (HP) LaserJet 5Si or 5Si/5Si MX PS printer, the euro symbol may be
printed as a black dot or blank space.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if TrueType fonts are not sent to the printer as
bitmap soft fonts.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Right-click your HP LaserJet 5Si or 5Si/5Si MX PS printer, and then
click Properties.
- Click the Fonts tab.
- For HP LaserJet 5Si/5Si MX PS printers, click Always Use TrueType
Fonts, click Send Fonts As, click Bitmaps under TrueType Fonts, click
OK, and then click OK again.
For HP LaserJet 5Si printers, click "Download TrueType fonts as bitmap
soft fonts," and then click OK.
