When you use Microsoft Call Manager to check phone messages, you may
receive the following error message:
Msphone caused a general protection fault in module User.exe
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if both the following conditions are true:
- You are using Microsoft Windows 95 or a beta copy of Microsoft Windows
98 on your computer.
- When you check for phone messages, your hard disk is not active.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, use the appropriate method:
Windows 98 Beta
Install the final release version of Windows 98 on your computer.
Windows 95
Activate the hard disk before you check phone messages. To do this, open a
program, and then close it.
