XL98: Toolbars Unexpectedly Displayed After Virus Search (193855)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition, when you use the Virus Search add-in to scan your Excel files for the Laroux virus, several toolbars may appear that were not visible before you performed the virus scan.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you include the following folder in the list of folders to scan for the Laroux virus: 
   Microsoft Office 98:Templates:Spreadsheet Solutions

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, close the toolbars by clicking the close box in the upper-left corner of each toolbar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
