  • Microsoft Windows 98

This article was previously published under Q193712

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Windows Media Player 5.2, some Web pages may only partially load even though the Microsoft Internet Explorer logo located in the upper-right corner of the browser window continues to spin.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a Web page uses the <Hidden=true> Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) tag with embedded media files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, obtain Windows Media Player 6.0 or later from the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download

To work around this behavior, contact the Web page author (or the Web server administrator) and request that the <Hidden=true> HTML tag be removed.
