Error Message: No Domain Server Was Available to Validate... (193670)

When you attempt to log on to your network, you may receive the following
error message:
No domain server was available to validate your logon
After you receive this error message, you may not be able to view or
use network resources.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you connect to your network by using an
infrared device (not a fast infrared device), and your computer is
configured to use only the IPX/SPX protocol.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, obtain and install a fast infrared device to
connect to your network.
To work around this issue, install another network protocol that is in use
on your network. To do so, use the following steps:
NOTE: For information about the protocols in use on your network, please
contact your network administrator.
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then
double-click Network.
- Click Add, click Protocol, and then click Add.
- In the Manufacturers box, click Microsoft, and then click the
appropriate network protocol in the Network Protocols box.
- Click OK, click OK, and then restart your computer.
