Bookshelf: Wave Sounds Pause or Break Up During Playback (193632)

When you attempt to play a sound file in Bookshelf 2000 or Bookshelf 99, the sound playback may pause or break up.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you run Bookshelf on a computer based on a
486 processor.
The minimum system requirements for Bookshelf 99 specify a 60 MHz Pentium or faster processor.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the program on a computer that meets the minimum system requirements to run Bookshelf 2000 or Bookshelf 99.

MORE INFORMATION
Bookshelf 2000 and Bookshelf 99 use MPEG-3 for compressed sound playback. Earlier versions of Bookshelf use Microsoft ADPCM and Microsoft GSM audio codecs for compressed sound playback.
