OL98: (CW) 16-Bit Sample Applications Forms Hang When Closed (193605)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q193605 NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the
Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging
Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your
installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About
Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate
Workgroup installation.
SYMPTOMS
If you use the 16-bit Exchange Forms Designer Sample Applications forms
located on the Microsoft Outlook 8.03 Compact disc, or the Microsoft
Exchange Server version 4.0 or 5.0 discs, or any other 16-bit form, and you
attempt to close one of the forms or delete an open item created from one
of these forms, Microsoft Outlook 98 stops responding. You must be running
Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT for this to occur.
CAUSE
When the form is closed or the item is deleted, it waits for Outlook to
release handles to the form resources. Outlook never releases the
handles so the form appears to hang.
