Cannot Change Desktop Settings with Diamond Stealth II S220 (193549)

When you attempt to modify the Colors or Screen Area setting using the
Display tool in Control Panel, the settings may have no effect, even
though Windows may display the "Windows will now resize your desktop..."
dialog box.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using a Diamond Stealth II S220 video
adapter, you have installed the latest drivers for this video adapter
(including the Diamond InControl Tools software) from the Diamond
Multimedia Web site, and you are logged on to Windows.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use any of the following methods:
Method 1
Do not log on to Windows before changing the display settings. When you
restart your computer, click Cancel when you are prompted to log on. The
issue described above does not occur if you are not logged on to Windows.
Method 2
Do not use the Display tool in Control Panel to change your display
settings. Instead, use the Diamond InControl Tools software to change the
display resolution and color depth. For information about using the
Diamond InControl Tools software, contact Diamond Multimedia, or refer
to the program's documentation.
