Unable to Convert Graphic Images to Different File Formats (193483)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q193483 SUMMARY
When you try to use the Imaging for Windows tool in Windows 98 to convert
a graphic image file from one format to another, you may be unable to do
so.
CAUSE
This issue can occur because Imaging for Windows supports viewing most
common graphic image files, but can save files in only the following
formats:
- Bitmap image (*.bmp)
- TIFF Document (*.tif)
- Fax Document (*.awd)
RESOLUTION
If you want to convert graphic image files from one format to another
format that Imaging for Windows does not support, obtain a program such
as Microsoft Photo Editor, Microsoft Picture It!, Corel Draw, PaintShop
Pro, or Adobe Photoshop to do so.
NOTE: Currently, there are no third-party products that support the Microsoft Fax format (.AWD).
The third-party products discussed in this article are manufactured by
vendors independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or
otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
