PRJ98: Missing Resource Names After Changing Resource Name To Null (193313)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, resource names may not be displayed in a task view. This behavior may occur for example in the Resource Names field, next to a bar in a Gantt Chart view, in a box (node) in the Pert Chart view, or in a bar in the Calendar view.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you change a resource name to a blank value.

Microsoft Project does not display multiple resources if one or more resource names are blank.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, assign a name to the resource(s) that have a blank name.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed at the beginning of this article.
