PRJ98: Long File Name Truncated When Sent to Mail Recipient (193085)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, when you send a project with a long file name to a mail recipient, the long file name may be truncated.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when you send a project with a long file name to another user from within Microsoft Project. To send a project from within Microsoft Project, point to Send To on the File menu and then click Mail Recipient.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps to send a project file via mail:

  1. In Microsoft Project 98, create the project file and save it.
  2. Open your mail program, and create a mail message.
  3. Attach the project file from your within your mail program.
  4. Send the message to the recipient.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
