XADM: Cannot Stop Information Store from a Command Prompt (193040)

When you attempt to stop the information store from a command prompt by
typing net stop msexchangeis, and then pressing
ENTER, the following error message may appear:
The service cannot be controlled in its present state.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For more information, please see the following article in the

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
