This article was previously published under Q192720 SYMPTOMS
When you enable the Show Pointer Trails option in Mouse properties in
Windows 98, pointer trails may not appear when you move the mouse.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using an STB Velocity 128 video adapter,
an STB nVIDIA TNT 16 MB video adapter, or an Nvidia Riva 128 video adapter
with the video adapter drivers included with Windows 98. Pointer trails are provided by the video adapter driver, and the Windows 98 drivers for these video adapters do not include this feature.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, contact the video adapter's manufacturer to
determine whether the manufacturer has an available driver that provides
the pointer trails functionality.
