Picture It! Express Err Msg: Cannot Find Media File... (192633)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to play one of the video clips in Microsoft Picture It! Express Help, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot find media file. Please insert the CD into the CD drive and try again.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Plus! 98 CD-ROM is not in the CD-ROM drive.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, insert the Plus! 98 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, wait a few seconds, and then attempt to play the video clip again.

NOTE: Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent the Plus! 98 CD-ROM from starting automatically.

If this does not resolve the issue, remove and reinstall Plus! 98 using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.

This behavior can also occur if you install Plus! 98 from a hard disk or over a network.

Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

To resolve this issue, use Registry Editor to change the value data of the Help Media value in the following registry key
   \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Picture It! Express\InstallDest
				
to <cdrom>:\PIE\UAFiles, where <cdrom> is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
