To make the text in Bookshelf articles more legible, you can select larger scroll bars and font sizes to use when you read articles in Bookshelf 98.

To change the size of the scroll bars and fonts in Bookshelf 98 articles, follow these steps:
  1. Start Bookshelf 98.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. Click the Text Size option you want, and then click OK. The following Text Size options are available:

    • Normal
    • Larger
    • Largest


    NOTE: You cannot change the size of the article text and the scroll bars independently.
The following table lists the sizes of the article title, article text, and scroll bars for each Text Size option in Bookshelf 98.

   Normal    Arial 16 point   Arial 10 point        12 pixels
   Larger    Arial 24 point   Arial 13 point        25 pixels

NOTE: The font sizes used for the following screen elements do not change:
  • Menus (Arial 9 point)
  • Tree control (Arial 9 point)
  • Buttons/Tabs (Arial 10 point Bold)
Bookshelf 98 automatically uses the Largest Text Size option if either of the following conditions are true:
  • The scrollbar size is set to 25 or higher in the Display tool in Control Panel.
  • High Contrast is enabled in the Accessibility tool in Control Panel.
