SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to gain access to Encarta 98 Encyclopedia content on a Microsoft Home Essentials 98 CD-ROM, you may receive one of the following messages:
Insert Compact Disc
Insert Encarta 98 Encyclopedia Disc 1
Insert Compact Disc
Insert Encarta 98 Encyclopedia Disc 2
When you insert the Home Essentials 98 Disc 1 or Disc 2 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, you receive the same message.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the content for Encarta 98 Encyclopedia is located on the Home Essentials 98 Disc 3 and Disc 4 CD-ROMs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, insert the Home Essentials 98 Disc 3 CD-ROM when you are prompted to insert the Encarta 98 Encyclopedia Disc 1 CD-ROM, and insert the Home Essentials 98 Disc 4 CD-ROM when you are prompted to insert the Encarta 98 Encyclopedia Disc 2 CD-ROM.
