Battery Alarm Settings Lost If Power Meter Settings Changed (192512)

SYMPTOMS

If you change settings on the Alarms tab in the Power Management tool and then change settings using the Power Meter icon on the taskbar, the settings you previously changed on the Alarms tab are lost when you shut down Windows. The alarm settings revert to the values saved from the previous Windows session.

RESOLUTION

To prevent the settings on the Alarms tab from being lost when you shut down Windows, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Power Meter icon on the taskbar, and then click Adjust Power Properties.
  2. On the Power Meter tab, click the Show Details For Each Battery check box to select or clear it as desired.
  3. On the Advanced tab, click the Show Power Meter On Taskbar check box to clear it, and then click Apply.
  4. If desired, click the Show Power Meter On Taskbar check box to select it.
  5. Click OK.
