SYMPTOMS

When you try to convert a Windows sound (.wav) file to Hewlett-Packard Mobile Voice format, you may receive the following error message:
Sound Recorder was unable to complete the conversion.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you try to convert a .wav file shorter than 2.4 seconds in length. Files shorter than approximately 2.4 seconds in length cannot be converted to Mobile Voice format due to the codec's packet structure.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this behavior from occurring, convert .wav files only greater than 2.4 seconds in length to Mobile Voice format.
